What marathon karaoke
taught me
about stakeholder management

Last weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a marathon karaoke session that opened my eyes to the intricacies of stakeholder management. As I belted out power ballads for five hours straight, I realized that each note I sang was akin to engaging with diverse stakeholders. Just like harmonizing with a backing track, aligning with stakeholders requires active listening, empathy, and the ability to hit those high notes without missing a beat! I even had the privilege of leading a spontaneous duet with a fellow karaoke enthusiast, showcasing the importance of collaboration and shared vision in a high-stakes environment. Who knew that belting β€œI Will Survive” could be a metaphor for navigating challenging project timelines?

This experience has truly reshaped my approach to leadership. As I rallied a group of enthusiastic singers to join me in a rousing chorus, I recognized the value of creating a unified front. We navigated through dissonance and discord, ultimately achieving a triumphant finale. If I can manage a room full of tone-deaf enthusiasts, imagine what I can do in the boardroom! I'm so grateful for the chance to blend my passion for music with my professional growthβ€”talk about a win-win!
